A cultivar of Deschampsia cepitosa, a compact, clump growing, semi-evergreen, fine textured leaves, and thin stems topped with airy delicate flowers with a golden twist. Seed head goes from dark green stems to an array of colors ranging from hues of gold, silver, purple, and green to form a cloud over the foliage forming into a low, dense tussock up to 16" tall. Mix with shady perennials and ferns.
While a cool season grass, 'Goldtau' prefers semi-shade and moist conditions in warmer climates and provides winter interest and may remain semi-evergreen depending on the winter climate, can also be used for cutting flower arrangements. Black Walnut & Air Pollution tolerant.
