Coreopsis tripteris 'Gold Standard' is an improved cultivar of Coreopsis tripteris, also called tall tickseed. The 'Gold Standard' cultivar is named for, well, being the 'Gold Standard' of the species cultivars, receiving a 4.7 out of 5 rating from Mt. Cuba Center's Coreopsis test trials, and beating the straight species in terms of stem strength, longer bloom time, higher density of blooms, and in having a more compact form.

Growing to between five and six feet tall and spreading almost the same distance wide over only a few seasons, 'Gold Standard' makes for an excellent addition to open meadows or pollinator gardens, with long-lasting blooms that opening in late summer and which persist well into the fall, acting as an attractive late season food source to a great deal of pollinators and butterflies.
