Viburnum awabuki 'Chindo' is an evergreen viburnum cultivar, growing as a dense, large, upright shrub with lustrous, dark green foliage. 'Chindo' grows rapidly to a height of 10 to 12 feet and a width of 6 to 8 feet, and produces clusters of small white flowers in the spring, which turn to pink and red berries at the end of summer and into the fall.

This cultivar is an especially hard plant  that grows in sun to part shade in a wide range of soils; 'Chindo' is also mildly resistant to damage by deer and, once established, can withstand drought and heat. As a low maintenance evergreen, Viburnum awabuki 'Chindo' makes for a great taller screen shrub and border plant, but also serves well as a specimen tree and larger foundation plant.
