The 'American Pillar' cultivar of Thuja occidentalis is the perfect narrow arborvitae addition to a variety of landscape hedges, privacy screens, and wind breaks. As part of the Full Speed A Hedge® collection, the 'American Pillar' selection is an extremely fast growing arborvitae, capable of gaining three feet in height every season until it reaches its mature height of 25-30' tall. With a formal, columnar appearance, 'American Pillar' also adds a lot of verticality to the garden with a small footprint of only three to five feet.

Performing best in moist, well drained soil in full sun or part-shade, Thuja occidentalis 'American Pillar' is the ideal choice for narrow borders and screens, like those facing roadways or sidewalks, and acts well as a wind break for even second-floor decks or balconies with its tall height. This arborvitae grows very well when placed close together and is tolerant of both cold and heat, making it an excellent landscape addition in a great deal of sites, and with the choice breeding of Full Speed A Hedge® your new hedge, border, or privacy screen will be ready in no time at all.

Marylanders Plant Trees

From the Maryland Department of Natural Resources:

"We launched Marylanders Plant Trees in 2009 to encourage citizens and organizations to partner with the State to plant new trees. Today, citizens can still take advantage of our coupon program to receive $25 off the purchase of a native tree at 86 participating nurseries across the State. The State cost of $20 per coupon is funded through a settlement from a major power generator for Clean Air Act violations, in partnership with the Office of the Attorney General, and Maryland’s participating tree vendors are generously absorbing the remaining $5.

Trees must be planted in the state of Maryland to qualify for $25 off coupon.
Wholesale customers do not qualify.
