Carex morrowii 'Ice Dance' is a cultivar of Carex morrowii, Japanese sedge, a species of low, grass-like plant native to East Asia. The 'Ice Dance' cultivar is noted for its fine-margined variegated leaves and its cold hardiness, remaining evergreen in mild climates and semi-evergreen in colder climates. 'Ice Dance' grows to 12-16" and can spread to 18-24" wide; this cultivar produces fine spiked flower panicles in mid spring, which are otherwise unremarkable.

Sedges are generally regarded as good ornamental plants due to their ability to stand up to a variety of conditions, and 'Ice Dance' is no exception. This cultivar is deer resistant, tolerant to a wide variety of soil types, grows well in full shade, and as a slow spreading species, grows well in small containers, borders, and even in rain gardens.
