Commonly called the mistflower, a late summer to fall blooming perennial that is native to the Eastern US. This dense ground cover, a vigorous spreader by rhizome and seed features violet-blue flowers with fuzzy tufts similar to that of annual ageratum.

Spreading habit forming a dense ground cover and best suited for areas for mistflower to spread. Mistflower can be thinned in early spring to control spread to smaller sites. Companion plants include Blue Stemmed Goldenrod and White Woodland Aster to create a colorful fall pallet for fall pollinators.

Full sun to part shade and best used in naturalized settings. Plants grow well in wet areas and taller plants can be cut back in summer to prevent flopping.
