The variegated version of the previous 'Stellar Pink' dogwood, Cornus x Variegated Stellar Pink® and is a sport, a random genetic mutation, of the previous 'Stellar Pink.' The original was developed Rutgers University to be more resistant to common dogwood pests and diseases such as dogwood borer, anthracnose, and powdery mildew, and Variegated Stellar Pink® exhibits the same resistances. This hybrid has large pink bracts that surround its true flowers, which are round, yellow-green, and non-descript, as well as creamy-white tinged varigated leaves, which turn beautiful shades of pink in the fall.
Prefers well-drained, medium moisture acidic soil in full to part-shade. Grows 15-30' tall and leaves turn purple red in the fall. This cultivar does not produce fruit and is deer tolerant.
