Cornus x 'Celestial Shadow' is a hybrid dogwood cultivar that originates from a happy accident! Originally part of the Rutgers University dogwood breeding series, 'Celestial Shadow' is a second generation hybrid with improved disease and pest resistance over other dogwoods with the addition of eye-catching yellow variegated leaves which turn even more striking in the fall, picking up hues of red, pink, and purple!
Cornus x 'Celestial Shadow' grows to 15'-20' tall and prefers part shade, and average, well-drained soil. This dogwood produces its showy flowers with large white bracts in the spring, and these flowers turn to red fruits, which are attractive to birds and small mammals.
