Acer rubrum Redpointe® is a red maple cultivar noted for its brilliant, bright red autumn foliage and elegant, upright, pyramidal form. In the springtime, the Redpointe® maple produces dark green leaves with silvery veins and undersides which turn to striking shades of bright brick red in cooler weather.
Redpointe® likes full sun, but is tolerant of a wide variety of soil types as well as wet soils, and can grow up to 45' high with spread of up to 30' in a relatively neat pyramid or ovular form. Acer rubrum is also a host plant for a number of caterpillar species which, alongside seeds, attract a number of birds to the summer and fall garden.
