Bottlebrush buckeye, Aesculus parviflora, is a multi-stemmed shrub or small undertsory tree with outstanding summer appeal. White bottlebrush spikes of profuse white flowers adorn branch tips through the early months of summer, attracting butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators. Bottlebrush buckeye grows 8-12′ tall and wide, and tolerates sun to shade and a wide range of soil conditions. In autumn, bottlebrush buckeye turns shades of lime green and yellow before leaves begin to fall.
Although it's a very popular choice for pollinators, care should be taken with planting location of Aesculus parviflora, as plant parts and seeds are toxic to humans and other mammals.
